May 14 Move Out – A Special Message for our Tenants

As the 2016/2017 lease year comes to an end, we would like to thank you for your cooperation this year. As you know, your lease ends on May 14, 2017. We are posting this information to be sure that you are prepared for your move-out. Read your lease to make sure you know what is expected of you upon move-out.

Security Deposits In order to receive your security deposit back you must give us a self-addressed, stamped envelope. If we do not already have this, please make sure to drop off your envelope as soon as possible at the office at 109 Stone Ridge Commons or place in the drop box located between the glass double doors at Stone Ridge Commons. Make sure to write your apartment/townhome number on the back of the envelope. We need these addressed to a home address not an address of College Park Commons or Hot Point Commons. If you are renewing your lease or if you are moving to a different SU Foundation property, you will still need to give us an envelope in order that we can send you a notice stating the amount being rolled over to your 2017/2018 security deposit and any additional amount that may be due on August 1, 2017.

Key Return If you are not renewing on a 12 month lease, you must fill out the key return envelope and return it to the office in order to receive credit for returning your keys. Please bring the envelope to the office or place in the drop box. Please make sure your name and apartment/townhome number is written on the outside of the sealed envelope. We must receive all apartment/townhome and mailbox keys by May 14, 2017. Also keep in mind that there is a $50.00 charge for each unreturned key. Please remember if you are renewing on a 9 month lease you must also return your keys by May 14, 2017 You may pick up the keys on August 14, 2017.

Cleaning If you are not renewing, all personal furniture and possessions must be removed from the unit or a charge to remove them will be assessed against your security deposit. Any items that you wish to dispose of must be placed in the dumpsters. If your apartment/townhome is not thoroughly cleaned, our maintenance staff will clean it and you will be charged accordingly. Please note: A large dumpster will be on the premises May 10th. Please wait and use this dumpster for any large items such as furniture.

Damages The condition of your apartment/townhouse will be compared to the report that you signed upon move-in. If there are any damages, the cost will be taken out of your security deposit. If the amount is greater than the amount of your security deposit, you will be billed for the charge.

Bills Make sure all bills are paid before May 1, 2017. If we have already calculated your security deposit amount, checks received after May 14, 2017 for outstanding expenses will be returned with your security deposit check or notice. All unpaid bills will be prorated to each tenant of the apartment/townhome therefore, you may not receive all of you security deposit back if there are unpaid bills for the apartment/townhome.

Thank you again for choosing the Commons!
